Transmission line towers are structures used to support high-voltage or ultra-high-voltage overhead transmission line conductors and lightning arresters. The structural types can be divided into wine glass type, cat head type, upper character type, etc. according to shape, and can be divided into tension towers, straight towers, spanning towers, etc.

Design Notice:

The safety distance requirements between the conductor and the ground and buildings must be met, and the specific structure must be determined based on factors such as voltage level and line layout

Loads on transmission lines:

Transmission line towers mainly bear wind loads, ice loads, line tension, constant loads, the weight of personnel and tools during installation or maintenance, as well as line breaks, earthquakes and other loads.

The size and spacing of the towers must meet the circuit requirements: the necessary minimum safety distance should be maintained between the conductors and the ground, buildings, trees, railways, roads, rivers and other overhead lines, between conductors and conductors, and between conductors and lightning conductors.
