Sorbitan Trioleate (Span 85), with an HLB value of 1.8, is a strongly lipophilic nonionic surfactant. This light yellow to amber viscous oily liquid is insoluble in water but soluble in many organic solvents. It offers acid and alkali resistance, excellent compatibility, and superior emulsifying, dispersing, lubricating, and rust-inhibiting properties. Widely used across multiple industries including pesticide, coating, metal processing, textile, daily chemical, and pharmaceutical applications as a W/O emulsifier, dispersant, softener, and rust inhibitor.
