Polysorbate 60 (Tween 60), chemically known as polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester, is a water-soluble nonionic surfactant. It appears as a yellow, viscous paste, readily soluble in hot water and organic solvents, and exhibits mild and stable properties. It possesses excellent emulsifying, suspending, leveling, and thickening effects, with moderate foaming. It is widely used in daily chemical skincare products, creams and lotions, food processing, coatings, textile printing and dyeing, and chemical auxiliaries, serving as an oil-in-water emulsifier, dispersant, and leveling agent.

Applications
- Easily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, and many other solvents; insoluble in animal and mineral oils. It possesses excellent emulsifying properties and also exhibits wetting, foaming, and dispersing effects.
- Used as an o/w type emulsifier, dispersant, and stabilizer in the manufacture of food, medicines, cosmetics, and water-based coatings.
- Used in the textile industry as a softener and antistatic agent. It is a component of polyacrylonitrile spinning oil and a softener in fiber post-processing, eliminating static electricity in fibers, improving their softness, and imparting good dyeing properties.
