The Perkins 386-1766 is a high-precision diesel fuel injector assembly engineered for heavy-duty industrial and commercial applications. Designed for Perkins 3508B, 3512B, and 3516B series engines, this injector supports high-pressure common rail systems and ensures optimal fuel delivery, accurate atomization, and superior combustion performance. Manufactured with high-tolerance machining and premium steel alloys, it is built to operate under extreme conditions found in generator sets, marine propulsion units, locomotive systems, and heavy construction equipment.
Featuring a multi-hole spray configuration and solenoid-actuated control, the 386-1766 delivers fine atomization and complete combustion across demanding duty cycles. It is engineered for high-pressure operation up to 2500-2700 bar and functions reliably within 20+ MPa system pressures. The recommended installation torque is 45-50 Nm, and the unit is available in both solenoid valve and piezoelectric actuation configurations to match specific engine requirements across the Perkins 3512B, 3516B, and 3508B platforms.
For long service life, replace fuel filters every 250-500 hours, inspect injector nozzles for carbon buildup, clean lines and restrictor screens, and check electrical connections regularly. Bench testing of flow and spray pattern is advised during scheduled maintenance, and seals or O-rings should be replaced at the first sign of wear. Before installation, confirm the correct part number, inspect the cylinder head injector bore for cleanliness, and ensure the fuel system is fully drained and free of debris.
