Custom Serrated Long Blade with 3–30 mm Tooth Pitch for Rubber and Silicone Cutting
Custom Serrated Long Blade for Rubber, Silicone and Converting Applications
Hengye manufactures custom serrated long blades for cutting, trimming and compatible slitting operations involving flexible and semi-hard materials. The listed customization ranges include lengths of 100–500 mm, tooth pitches of 3–30 mm and thicknesses of 0.5–10 mm.
Blade dimensions, tooth profiles, material grades and surface treatments can be specified according to technical drawings and equipment requirements. Applications include rubber and silicone cutting, packaging, film converting, paper processing and textile cutting.
Address Material Dragging and Incomplete Separation
Flexible materials may stretch, deflect or snag during cutting when the blade geometry or material support is unsuitable. Worn teeth, incorrect alignment and insufficient cutting clearance can also contribute to uneven edges or incomplete separation.
A serrated edge initiates cutting at individual tooth tips. The tooth pitch, height and bevel should be matched to the material section and cutting motion. Changing the blade material alone may not resolve problems caused by the holder, feed arrangement or machine settings.

These ranges represent customization options rather than one finished blade size. Non-standard dimensions and special tooth profiles can be submitted for manufacturing review.
Application-Specific Selection
Rubber and Silicone Cutting
Provide the material type, hardness, thickness and shape of the section being cut. Include details of stretching, sticking or incomplete separation observed with the current blade. These conditions help guide tooth-profile and surface-treatment selection.
Packaging Film and Roll Materials
Specify the film structure, thickness and any coating or adhesive. Identify the cutting direction and explain how the material is supported and tensioned during separation.
Paper and Textile Processing
Include the paper grade or fabric construction, number of layers and required edge condition. The blade geometry should be reviewed against the actual substrate rather than selected only by overall dimensions.
Material and Coating Selection
The listed steel grades offer alternative specifications for different cutting conditions. Provide the existing blade grade where known, together with information about wear, chipping, moisture exposure and cleaning procedures.
TiN, TiCN and CrN are optional surface treatments. Their suitability should be reviewed with the base material and operating conditions; no single coating is appropriate for every application.
How to Specify a Replacement Blade
-
Confirm the overall length, width and thickness.
-
Define tooth pitch, tooth height, profile and bevel orientation.
-
Include mounting holes, slots and reference surfaces.
-
Mark required dimensional tolerances and straightness requirements.
-
Identify the material being cut, cutting motion and machine model.
-
State the required grade, surface treatment and quantity.
For an existing cutting problem, include photographs of the worn blade and sample cut edges.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you manufacture dimensions outside the listed ranges?
Non-standard dimensions can be submitted for review. Availability depends on the complete blade geometry, selected material and manufacturing requirements.
How do I choose between a 3 mm and a 30 mm tooth pitch?
Selection depends on the material, section thickness, support arrangement and cutting motion. Neither end of the range is universally better. Provide the current tooth profile and required cutting result for review.
Are all blades supplied at the same hardness?
No. HRC 55–65 is a listed range. The final target should be agreed for the selected steel grade and cutting conditions.
Can one blade cut rubber, film and paper?
These are application categories, not a guarantee that one configuration suits all three. Each material and machine combination should be reviewed separately.
What should I send for a quotation?
Provide a dimensioned drawing, material-cutting details, required quantity and any specified grade, coating or inspection requirements.
