Hot Melt Sealant
Our Hot Melt Sealant, typically a polysulfide or polyurethane-based compound, acts as the robust secondary structural seal. Applied after the primary seal, it encapsulates the entire spacer and the gap between the glass panes. This sealant is responsible for the mechanical strength of the IGU, providing exceptional adhesion to the glass and spacer, and absorbing structural stresses caused by wind load, thermal expansion, and vibration. It offers outstanding resistance to UV radiation, weathering, and temperature extremes, ensuring the unit remains intact and fog-free for decades. By using MGM's perfectly matched sealant system, manufacturers can be confident they are producing IGUs that meet the highest international standards for longevity, energy efficiency, and structural reliability, delivering peace of mind to builders and end-users alike.
