Product Overview

MR hollow particle board (also called MR hollow-core / tubular / honeycomb particle board or chipboard) is a specialized engineered wood panel. “MR” means Moisture Resistant, and “hollow” refers to its internal tubular or honeycomb structure instead of a solid core.

Main uses

• Interior door cores (by far the most common application)
• Lightweight furniture panels, closet doors, sliding doors
• Office partitions and room dividers
• Wall panels and decorative elements in moderate-humidity interiors

• Lightweight yet strong – Up to 50–60% lighter than solid particle board of the same thickness, reducing stress on hinges, frames, and hardware while maintaining structural stability.
• Superior moisture resistance – Manufactured with special moisture-resistant resins (typically MUF) and additives; significantly slower swelling and better performance in humid environments compared to standard particle board.
• Excellent sound & thermal insulation – Tubular/honeycomb core traps air, delivering strong sound insulation (approx. 28 dB) and effective thermal insulation.
• High dimensional stability – Hollow structure distributes stress evenly, minimizing warping and deformation.
