Cold formed steel profiles are made from hot rolled or cold rolled steel strips by cold roll forming, bending or stamping at room temperature without heating. The production process includes uncoiling, leveling, cold forming, fixed length cutting and surface treatment.

Compared with hot rolled steel, cold formed steel has higher material utilization (saving 15%–50% steel), lighter weight, higher strength due to work hardening, and more flexible section design. It features high dimensional accuracy up to ±0.5mm, smooth surface, good adhesion for painting and galvanizing, and short production lead time.
