Product Overview
Nomay PTFE Coated Aramid Fabric Tape is a lightweight, high-strength industrial tape made from woven aramid fabric coated with PTFE. A high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive can be applied to one side for direct installation on prepared machine surfaces.
The product combines the non-stick, low-friction working surface of PTFE with the tensile strength, tear resistance, impact resistance and repeated-flex durability of aramid reinforcement.

Backing & Adhesive System
The woven aramid backing provides a high strength-to-weight ratio and greater resistance to repeated flexing and folding than many conventional PTFE-coated fiberglass constructions. Performance & Operating Conditions
The recommended continuous operating range for the complete PTFE/aramid/adhesive construction is −60°C to 200°C. Short-term exposure up to 260°C can be evaluated, but it must not be treated as the standard continuous operating temperature.
Actual temperature capability depends on the aramid grade, PTFE coating, adhesive system, exposure time, mechanical load, airflow and repeated thermal cycling.
PTFE must not be heated above 316°C because excessive heating can release hazardous decomposition fumes. The tape must not be exposed to open flame or uncontrolled heating.
Before installation, remove oil, moisture, dust, release agents and loose contamination from the application surface. Apply adhesive-backed tape using firm and uniform pressure.
Applications involving continuous steam, chemical exposure, rotating rollers, repeated bending or high mechanical load must be tested on the actual equipment before bulk installation.
