Product Overview
Nomay PTFE Tape with Silicone Adhesive is a high-temperature industrial adhesive tape combining a low-friction, non-stick PTFE working surface with heat-resistant silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Two primary backing constructions are available. The PTFE-coated fiberglass cloth version provides greater tensile strength, dimensional stability, puncture resistance and wear resistance. The pure PTFE film version provides a smoother, more conformable and fiberglass-free surface for precision or clean processing.
The tape is designed for heat sealer jaws, heating plates, sealing bars, packaging machines, SMT fixtures, hot-press equipment, web-processing rollers, guide rails, chutes, composite molds and other heated industrial surfaces.

PTFE-Coated Fiberglass Cloth Version
The fiberglass cloth version provides higher tensile strength, resistance to tearing and puncture, dimensional stability and better resistance to repeated mechanical wear. It is suitable for heat-sealing machinery, rollers, guide rails, chutes and equipment surfaces exposed to repeated contact.
Pure PTFE Film Version
The pure PTFE film version provides a smoother surface, improved conformability and a fiberglass-free construction. It is suitable for precision equipment, electronic fixtures, web handling, electrical protection and applications where fabric texture or loose fibers are undesirable.
Silicone Adhesive System
The high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive provides bonding across a wide temperature range and supports installation on properly cleaned metal and industrial surfaces. Actual adhesion and removal depend on the substrate, surface condition, application pressure, temperature, service time and mechanical load.
Silicone adhesive should not be selected without evaluation where silicone transfer could interfere with later painting, coating, printing or structural bonding.

Performance & Operating Conditions
The stated continuous working-temperature range is −70°C to 260°C. Short-term exposure up to 300°C must be evaluated according to the exposure time, backing, adhesive condition, substrate, mechanical load and airflow.
PTFE must not be heated above 316°C because excessive heating can release hazardous decomposition fumes. The tape must not be exposed to open flame or uncontrolled heating.
Before application, remove oil, moisture, dust, release agents and loose contamination from the substrate. Apply the tape using firm and uniform pressure, and avoid wrinkles, trapped air and unnecessary overlap.
For rotating rollers, heat-sealing jaws, hot-press plates and repeated thermal cycling, test the selected backing and thickness under actual production conditions.
Chemical resistance is mainly provided by the exposed PTFE surface. Chemicals can still contact and affect the adhesive or exposed tape edges, so the complete tape construction must be tested for chemical-processing applications.

Q: Can the tape operate continuously at 300°C?
