FDA-Compliant Food Grade White PTFE Tape (Food-Safe PTFE Film Tape / Pure White PTFE Adhesive Tape / Fiberglass-Free Non-Stick Tape) – For Baking, Packaging & Food Processing
-
Product Overview
Nomay FDA-Compliant Food Grade White PTFE Tape is a single-sided industrial adhesive tape manufactured from virgin pure white skived PTFE film and high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive. It provides a clean, smooth, fiberglass-free, non-stick and low-friction working surface for food-processing, baking and packaging equipment.
This food-grade version is designed for buyers who require a pure white PTFE working surface and supporting food-contact documentation for the ordered construction. It is different from standard industrial milky white PTFE tape, grey PTFE tape and PTFE-coated fiberglass cloth tape.
The correct regulatory term is “FDA-compliant,” not “FDA-certified.” Food-contact suitability depends on the complete material construction, intended use and conditions of use.
-
Product Construction
The standard product consists of two functional layers:
• Exposed working layer: Virgin pure white skived PTFE film
• Bonding layer: Single-sided high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive
The PTFE surface faces the processing or food zone, while the adhesive side bonds to the equipment surface. The adhesive should not directly contact food unless the complete construction has been separately evaluated for that intended use.
The standard version is self-wound. A release-liner-backed version can be supplied for precision die cutting, sheet conversion and accurate installation.
-
Backing & Adhesive System
The virgin pure PTFE film contains no woven fiberglass reinforcement, helping prevent glass-fiber shedding and coarse fabric texture in clean processing environments.
Its smooth, low-surface-energy working face helps release dough, molten plastic film, packaging adhesive, oil and other process materials. The white surface also makes dirt, discoloration and process contamination easier to identify during inspection.
The high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive provides convenient bonding to properly prepared equipment surfaces. Food-contact evaluation must consider the PTFE film, adhesive system, temperature, contact time, food type and installation arrangement.

It may also be used in clean industrial, precision electronics and sterilization-equipment applications where a pure white, fiberglass-free, non-stick PTFE surface is required.
-
Industries
Suitable industries include commercial baking, food processing, beverage processing, flexible food packaging, tray sealing, bakery machinery, confectionery production, dairy-processing equipment, meat and prepared-food processing, pharmaceutical packaging, clean manufacturing, precision converting and food-equipment maintenance.
-
Application Scenarios / Problems Solved
On food heat-sealer jaws and sealing bars, the PTFE surface helps reduce melted packaging-film and adhesive buildup, supporting cleaner sealing areas and easier maintenance.
On baking and dough-processing equipment, the non-stick surface helps reduce sticking where dough, oils or other process materials contact equipment guides and plates.
On packaging rollers, the low-friction PTFE face supports smoother material movement and helps reduce drag, squeaks and residue accumulation.
In clean food-processing areas, the fiberglass-free construction avoids loose glass fibers and woven-fabric texture. The pure white appearance also makes visible dirt and discoloration easier to identify.
For precision replacement parts, the release-liner-backed version supports accurate die cutting, storage and installation of pads, strips, washers and shaped components.

Performance & Operating Conditions
Before installation, clean and dry the equipment surface and remove oil, food residue, release agents and loose particles. Apply firm and uniform pressure to obtain complete adhesive contact without bubbles, wrinkles or lifted edges.
The exposed PTFE surface should face the food or processing area. Edges should be installed so that the silicone adhesive does not become exposed to food, aggressive cleaning fluids or moving product.
Food-contact compliance is determined by material identity, intended use and conditions of use. Buyers should review the applicable declaration, test report or certificate of conformance for the ordered construction and assess the food type, contact temperature, contact duration, repeated-use conditions and cleaning process.
Avoid cutting, scratching or puncturing the exposed PTFE surface. Replace the tape if the film becomes damaged, lifted, contaminated or excessively worn.
Continuous operation near the maximum temperature may shorten adhesive life. Do not expose PTFE material to temperatures above 316°C because hazardous thermal-decomposition fumes may be generated.
-
Comparison & Selection Guide
Choose this FDA-compliant food-grade white PTFE tape when the application requires a pure white, fiberglass-free, non-stick surface together with supporting food-contact documentation for the specified construction.
Choose standard milky white industrial PTFE tape when food-contact documentation is not required and the application is general industrial insulation, friction reduction or non-stick protection.
Choose PTFE-coated fiberglass cloth tape when mechanical strength, dimensional stability, puncture resistance and heavy abrasion resistance are more important than fiber-free cleanliness.
Choose 0.05 mm or 0.08 mm for curved surfaces, thin profiles and precision equipment. Choose 0.13 mm or 0.18 mm for increased durability and wear resistance.
Choose the self-wound version for general heat-sealer and roller applications. Choose the release-liner-backed version for precision die cutting, sheets, small components and controlled installation.

Technical Notes + FAQ
Q: Is this product FDA certified?
A: The accurate term is FDA-compliant. FDA food-contact authorization is based on the material, intended use and conditions of use rather than a general product certification.
Q: Is this the same as ordinary milky white PTFE tape?
A: No. This version is specified as a food-grade pure white construction with supporting food-contact documentation. Ordinary industrial milky white tape should not automatically be substituted.
Q: Which side can face the food-processing area?
A: The exposed pure white PTFE working surface should face the process or food zone. The adhesive side bonds to the equipment.
Q: Can the adhesive directly contact food?
A: Direct adhesive contact should be avoided unless the complete adhesive construction has been separately evaluated and documented for the intended food-contact conditions.
Q: Does the product contain fiberglass?
A: No. The standard backing is virgin pure white PTFE film without fiberglass reinforcement.
Q: Can it be used on baking equipment?
A: Yes, when the selected construction, food type, contact arrangement, temperature and operating cycle match the documented use conditions.
Q: Can it be used repeatedly?
A: It can remain installed for repeated equipment cycles when the surface remains intact, clean and securely bonded. Inspect regularly and replace damaged or contaminated tape.
Q: Can custom die-cut components be supplied?
A: Yes. Rolls, sheets, strips, pads, washers and custom die-cut parts can be produced according to the buyer’s drawing.
