T5577 Dual-Magnet Card – Function and Usage

The T5577 dual-magnet card refers to a T5577 card that contains two magnets inside. These magnets are not used for data transmission; instead, they serve as a “wake-up” trigger. Since water, gas, and electricity meters are mostly battery powered, the card reading circuit remains in sleep mode to conserve energy. When the card is brought near the meter, the magnets activate a magnetic reed switch inside the meter to power up the circuit, after which the chip begins communication and data read/write operations.

Actual usage process:
  1. Approach the sensing area – Bring the card close to the reading zone of the water or electricity meter.
  2. Automatic activation – The magnets wake up the meter; the meter’s display may light up or show a prompt.
  3. Data read/write – Complete the recharge or data exchange, typically in less than 67 milliseconds.
Operating frequency:

125 kHz low frequency card, offering strong signal penetration and suitable for humid environments.

Keywords:

T5577 card – water meter, prepaid water card recharge, IC card water meter usage demonstration.
