Product Description
Pulse Jet Air Manifold Blowpipe Custom Durable Corrosion Resistant
Product Overview

The pulse-jet air manifold (also called pulse air reservoir or air tank) and the blowpipe together form the cleaning power core of any pulse-jet baghouse or cartridge dust collector. The air manifold is a pressure vessel, available in round or square configuration, that stores and stabilizes compressed air for the pulse valves. The blowpipe is a precision-drilled pipe installed above each row of filter bags, delivering high-pressure air pulses directly into the bag interiors. When a pulse valve opens, stored air rushes through the blowpipe nozzles, creating a shockwave that flexes the bags and dislodges the dust cake. Our manifolds are fabricated from seamless Q235 carbon steel or 304 stainless steel with reinforced walls, welded and pressure-tested to 1.5 times the working pressure. Blowpipes are made from thick-wall seamless tube, CNC-drilled to match the filter bag layout, with smooth, burr-free holes that focus the air jet precisely. The system includes drain valves, safety valve connections, and sealed bulkhead fittings. Designed for 0.4–0.6 MPa compressed air and temperatures from -20°C to 250°C, these components ensure uniform, powerful cleaning pulses with no pressure loss or leakage.

Cause: Poorly Built Manifolds and Blowpipes Cause Ineffective Cleaning

In a pulse-jet system, cleaning performance depends entirely on the air delivery components. Thin-walled or poorly welded manifolds leak pressure, reducing the peak pulse energy. Rust and scale inside carbon steel tanks contaminate the compressed air and block the blowpipe nozzles. Improperly spaced or rough-edged holes cause uneven air distribution, leaving some bags uncleaned while others receive excessive force. Over time, vibration and corrosion enlarge holes, misalign nozzles, and cause permanent leaks. The result is higher differential pressure, increased fan energy, and premature filter bag failure.

Solution: Reinforced, Precision-Manufactured Air Delivery Components

Our air manifolds and blowpipes solve these problems through heavy-gauge construction and controlled fabrication. Manifolds use 3.0–4.0 mm wall thickness, with welded seams tested at 1.5 times working pressure. Internal cleanliness is ensured to prevent contamination. Blowpipes use 2.5–3.5 mm seamless tube, CNC-drilled for accurate hole size and spacing. Each hole is centered on a filter bag, with diameter selected for the specific bag length and air volume. Stainless steel bulkhead fittings and EPDM seals provide leak-tight installation. For corrosive or high-temperature applications, 304 stainless steel construction offers a service life three times longer than carbon steel. The result is consistent, high-energy cleaning pulses that keep the dust collector operating at a low, stable pressure drop.

How It Works

The air manifold stores compressed air from the plant supply and damps pressure fluctuations. When the pulse controller sends a signal, a pulse valve opens, releasing a high-energy burst of air into the blowpipe. The blowpipe directs the air through precisely positioned nozzles into the open tops of the filter bags. The rapid pressure rise inside each bag causes it to flex outward, fracturing the dust cake, which falls into the hopper. The manifold immediately refills and stabilizes for the next pulse.

How To Choose

Step 1: Determine the manifold volume based on the number of pulse valves and the required pulse energy. Larger systems with many bags need larger manifolds (Φ325 or Φ377).

Step 2: Select the blowpipe diameter and length to match the row of filter bags. The pipe must be long enough to cover all bags in the row.

Step 3: Specify the nozzle hole size based on the bag diameter and length. Φ8–10 mm is common for most industrial bags.

Step 4: Choose material. Q235 carbon steel is standard for dry, non-corrosive dust. Use 304 stainless steel for corrosive, high-humidity, or high-temperature applications.

FAQ
  1.  How often should I drain the air manifold?
Drain the manifold every 7–15 days, or more frequently in humid climates, to remove condensate and prevent internal corrosion and water carryover into the filter bags.
  2.  Can you manufacture custom manifold sizes and blowpipe hole patterns?
Yes. Provide the number of filter bags, row spacing, and manifold length. We fabricate to your exact dimensions and hole layout.
  3.  What is the advantage of 304 stainless steel over carbon steel?
Stainless steel resists corrosion from moisture, chemicals, and high temperatures, giving a service life three times longer. It is recommended for chemical plants, coastal sites, and high-temperature flue gas.
  4.  How do I prevent blowpipe nozzle clogging?
Use clean, dry compressed air and install a refrigerated air dryer and coalescing filter upstream. Inspect nozzles annually and clean any blockage with compressed air.
  5.  What pressure test is performed on the manifold?
Each manifold is hydrostatically or pneumatically tested at 1.5 times the rated working pressure before shipment, and a test certificate is available on request.
  6.  Do you supply the pulse valves and fittings as well?
Yes. We can supply the complete pulse cleaning package including pulse valves, solenoid controllers, connectors, and seals, ready for installation.
  7.  How do I get a quotation?
Provide the manifold dimensions, blowpipe lengths, hole sizes, material preference, and nearest seaport. We return a full offer with lead time and shipping cost within one business day. Distributor pricing is available.
