Crimping Criteria
A properly crimped contact meets the following criteria:
- Meets the specified crimp height.
- Includes a "Bell-mouth" (no crimping on conductor).
- The conductor tip protrudes 0.5mm or less from the "Conductor Barrel."
- All wire conductors are within the "Conductor Barrel."
- No wire insulator is crimped into the "Conductor Barrel."
- No cracks or burrs in the crimping area.
Contact Withdrawal
Procedure for withdrawing contacts:
- Visually inspect the connector for damage.
- Lightly push the wire with the crimped contact.
- Insert a "Withdrawing Tool" into the tool cavity.
- Release contact locking by meeting the molding lance with the tool.
- Withdraw the wire on a straight axis.
Notes:
- Suitable withdrawing tool for JAE is "ET-MX19."
- Do not snag the contact on the grommet by forced withdrawal.
- The limitation frequency for withdrawing at one cavity is 3 times. Replace if damaged.
- Do not apply unnecessary force.
- Insert withdrawing tool only into the "tool cavity," never the contact cavity.
