Assembly Instructions

General Steps:

  1. Slide outer ferrule onto cable as shown. Strip cable jacket, braid, and dielectric to dimensions specified in the table. Ensure all cuts are sharp and square, avoiding nicks to the braid, dielectric, or center conductor.
  2. Flare the end of the cable braid slightly to facilitate insertion onto the inner ferrule. Do not comb out the braid.
  3. Solder the center contact to the cable using SN60-40 rosin core solder. The center conductor should be visible through the soft solder access hole in the contact before soldering.
  4. Install the body onto the cable so the female portion slides under the braid and the insulator butts flush against the cable dielectric. Slide the outer ferrule over the braid and up against the body, ensuring no slack in the braid. Crimp the ferrule with the specified tool, keeping the cable dielectric bottomed against the insulator.

Angle Plugs (Steps 2 & 3):

  1. Place the cable dielectric into the body and press the ferrule against the body. Crimp with the die set shown in the table.
  2. Solder the cable center conductor into the contact. Insert the cap and solder, or dimple and lightly punch the center of the cap for retention in the body (for brass versions).
  3. Place heat shrink tubing over the crimp ferrule, against the body, and apply heat.
