Duplex IQI Wire Penetrameter Overview
Professional duplex wire type image quality indicators designed for industrial radiography applications, compliant with EN 462-1, DIN 54 109, and ASTM E747 standards.
EN 462-1 Wire Type Indicators
European standard indicators featuring seven parallel wires of varying thickness encapsulated between transparent PVC sheets. Each unit includes a lead monogram indicating the thickest wire number, material type, and EN symbol.
Available Sizes & Applications
- Size 1: Wire numbers 1-7, for material thicknesses 40-160mm
- Size 6: Wire numbers 6-12, for material thicknesses 12.5-50mm
- Size 10: Wire numbers 10-16, for material thicknesses 5-20mm
- Size 13: Wire numbers 13-19, for material thicknesses 2.5-10mm
Material Options
All sizes available in Steel (Fe), Aluminum (Al), and Stainless Steel (SS). Copper (Cu) and Zirconium (Zr) available in sizes 6 and 10. Nickel (Ni) available in sizes 6, 10, and 13.
DIN 54 109 Wire Type Indicators
German standard indicators with identical wire diameters and numbering to EN 462-1, distinguished by DIN monogram identification.
EN 462-2 Stepwedge/Hole Type
Stepwedge penetrameters available in models H5, H9, and H13, manufactured in steel for precise radiographic testing.
ASTM E747 Wire Type Penetrameters
American standard indicators with six parallel wires of different thicknesses encapsulated in flexible PVC. Lead characters identify the thickest wire and material group (1-Fe, 01-Ti, 02-Al, 03-Mg, 3-Ni, 4-Cu).
ASTM SE 1025 Plate Penetrameters
Rectangular plates with thickness equal to 2% of specimen thickness, featuring three holes with diameters 1X, 2X, and 4X the plate thickness. Minimum thickness 0.010", with disc form available for thicknesses greater than 0.180".
