Diesel generator is a kind of small power generation equipment, refers to the diesel fuel, diesel engine as the prime mover to drive the generator power machinery. The whole set is generally composed of diesel engine, generator, control box, fuel tank, starting and control storage battery, protection device, emergency cabinet and other components.

The basic structure of diesel engine it is composed of cylinder, piston, cylinder head, intake valve, exhaust valve, piston pin, connecting rod, crankshaft, bearing and flywheel and other components. The diesel engine of the diesel generator is generally a single cylinder or multi-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine. Now I will only talk about the basic principle of the single cylinder four-stroke diesel engine. The diesel engine starts by turning the crankshaft of the diesel engine by hand or other power to make the piston move up and down in the closed cylinder at the top. The piston completes four strokes in the movement: intake stroke, compression stroke, combustion and work expansion stroke and exhaust stroke. When the piston moves from up to down, the intake valve opens and the fresh air filtered by the air filter enters the cylinder to complete the intake stroke. The piston moves from the bottom up and the inlet and exhaust valves are closed. The air is compressed and the temperature and pressure increase to complete the compression process. When the piston is about to reach its peak, the injector sprays the filtered fuel into the combustion chamber in the form of a mist, mixes with high temperature and high pressure air and immediately ignits itself. The high pressure formed pushes the piston down to work and drives the crankshaft to rotate to complete the work stroke. After the work stroke is completed, the piston moves the exhaust valve from the bottom up to open the exhaust to complete the exhaust stroke. The crankshaft rotates half a turn per stroke. After several working cycles the diesel engine gradually accelerates to work under the inertia of the flywheel.
