The rollers of cylindrical roller bearings have linear contact with the raceway,so the bearing can carry heavier radial load.

Normally these bearings can accommodate radial load only,none but single row bearings with ribs both on inner and outer rings can carry lighter axial load.

Such bearings need to be installed in the axial load of the host components, only in the same time using other types of bearings to bear the premise of axial load before use.
