Bit Face Shape Selection
- Drop Center Bit: For high penetration rates in soft to medium hard and fissured rock formations with low to medium air pressures. Provides maximum hole deviation control.
- Concave Face: All-round application bit face for medium hard and homogeneous rock formations. Offers good hole deviation control and excellent flushing capacity.
- Convex Face: For high penetration rates in soft to medium-hard rock with low to medium air pressures. Most resistant to steel wash but has poor hole deviation control.
- Double Gauge Face: Suitable for fast penetration in medium to hard rock formations. Designed for high air pressures with good resistance to steel wash.
- Flat Face Bit: Ideal for hard to very hard and abrasive rock formations with high air pressures. Provides good penetration rates and resistance to steel wash.
