Coupling Sleeves Overview
Coupling sleeves (also known as couplings) are essential components when using rock drills with male shank adapters and conventional drifter rods. They connect the adapter to the rod, ensuring proper contact for efficient energy transmission. Couplings can also connect multiple rods together and feature a middle stop to prevent over-threading onto drill rods. We manufacture both semi-bridge and full bridge coupling sleeves for percussive tools.
Semi-Bridge Coupling Features
Semi-bridge couplings are the most commonly used type in the market, featuring:
- Small non-threaded bridge in the center
- Steel cannot thread past bridge area
- Smaller diameter steel end portions fit together in the center bridge area
- Most suitable for high torque machines
- Most rope and HM threaded couplings are semi-bridged
