PQ Locking Coupling Adapter for Wireline Core Barrel Assembly
KSQ offers a comprehensive selection of locking couplings, essential components located on the upper section of the outer tube in core barrel assemblies. The locking coupling serves multiple critical functions: adapting the core barrel outer tube to drill rods, securing the head assembly to the outer tube to ensure synchronized rotation during drilling operations, and stabilizing the upper section of the core barrel to minimize hole deviation.
Certain locking coupling variants also provide additional protection for hole diameter integrity in scenarios where the reaming shell loses its gauge. Proper selection based on ground conditions is crucial for optimal drilling performance.
Locking Coupling Types
Conventional Locking Coupling
This full-hole size coupling features tungsten carbide pads for enhanced stabilization. Ideal for ground conditions where minimal deviation is anticipated.
Hexagonal Locking Coupling
Also classified as a full-hole coupling, the hexagonal design incorporates 4-6 circumferential sections that provide excellent stabilization. When used with a full-hole outer tube, this coupling effectively controls bore hole deviation by stabilizing the core barrel assembly.
Heavy Duty Locking Coupling
Engineered for demanding applications, this coupling features a robust matrix pad body embedded with tungsten carbide grit, complemented by additional tungsten carbide pads. This construction delivers superior stabilization for the core barrel in challenging drilling conditions.
