Application: It is used for construction testing of ceiling fan.

Test sample: Ceiling fans.

Feature: The ceiling fan shall incorporate a device that disconnects the fan from the supply before the suspension system fails. An example of this construction is shown in Figure 1 01 .
Compliance is checked by the following test.
The bolt that connects the down rod to the motor is replaced with the specially prepared test pin shown in Figure 102 that simulates wear on the bolt. The pin is fully inserted so that it connects the down rod to the motor.
The fan is supplied at rated voltage and operated at maximum speed. The pin is then partially withdrawn so that the motor is connected to the down rod by that part of the pin having diameter b.
The supply to the ceiling fan shall be automatically disconnected and the fan shall not be capable of operation without replacing the worn bolt.
