Introduction of Home Appliance Testing Equipment:
IEC 60335-1 section 25.14 require Appliances provided with a supply cord and that are moved while in operation shall be constructed so that the supply cord is adequately protected against excessive flexing where it enters the appliance.
Type Z attachments are subjected to a 20,000 flex test and other attachments are subjected to a 10,000 flex test, both 45 degrees from cord axis, with 10N or 5N of force on the cord, and A flexing is one movement of 90°. The rate of flexing is 60 per minute. During the test, the conductors are supplied at rated voltage and loaded with the rated current of the appliance. Current is not passed through the earthing conductor or functional earthing conductor.
