Apparatus For Breaking Capacity And Normal Operation Test For Plugs And Socket-Outlets
Standard:
IEC 60884-1 'Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes – Part 1: General requirements' clause 20,clause 21 and figure 16.
Breaking capacity:
Accessories shall have adequate breaking capacity.
Compliance is checked by testing socket-outlets and plugs with pins which are not solid, by means of an appropriate test apparatus, an example of which is shown in figure 16.
Normal operation:
Accessories shall withstand without excessive wear or other harmful effect, the mechanical, electrical and thermal stresses occurring in normal use.
Compliance is checked by testing socket-outlets, and plugs with resilient earthing socketcontacts or with pins which are not solid, by means of an appropriate test apparatus, an example of which is shown in figure 16.
Application:
It is applicable for the switches breaking capacity and normal operation life test of plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes.
