2. Description:

This tester is used to measure electrical insulation property of safety helmet.

Test method:

With preference of method B and method C, if the helmet passed both test, then It is qualified.

If there is blow hole or mental parts run through the helmet, then it is applicable to method A and method

C, and it pass two test taking as qualified.

The helmet has to be preprocessed before test.

Preprocessing method: soaked in the sodium cloride of 20℃±2℃ temperature and 3g/L density for 24

hours and take out, wipe dry the surface within 2min.

Method A:

Fix the helmet on the head shape mould.

Probe contact helmet and impose testing voltage, adjust the voltage to 1200V±25V and keep 15s, then

test again .

Each helmet will be tested 10 positions and record the value of current and possible punch through

phenomenon.

Method B:

Let the helmet upside down in an appropriate container, pour in sodium chloride liquid with density of 3g/L

till under helmet trim 10mm.

put probe in the liquid of inside of cap casing and outside respectively.

Rise the voltage to 1200V±25V and keep 15s.

record the value of current and possible punch through phenomenon.

Method C:

Contact the two probes on two any position and impose voltage, and the space between the two positions

not less than 20mm.

Adjust voltage to 1200V±25V within 1min.

Measure the leaking current between the positions and test again.

Each helmet will be tested 10 positions and record the value of current and possible punch through

phenomenon.
