Truflex NI Thermal Bimetal Strip - Ni/Ni36 Alloy with 10.0 Specific Bending and -70°C to 400°C Operating Range
Thermal bimetal strip is a composite material consisting of two or more metal layers with different thermal expansion coefficients, bonded together along the entire interface. This construction enables shape changes in response to temperature variations, making it ideal for thermal control applications.
The high expansion coefficient layer serves as the active component, while the low expansion coefficient layer functions as the passive component. For applications requiring high resistivity while maintaining similar thermal sensitivity, an intermediate shunt layer can be added between the two primary layers to control resistivity levels.
- High thermal sensitivity with low resistivity properties
- Maintains straight bending up to 300°C, preventing permanent strain at elevated temperatures
- Converts thermal energy into mechanical work for automatic control systems
- Widely used in control systems and temperature measurement instruments
