The Stainless Steel Welded Tube is stronger but has seam, or the track of welding on it. The welded tubes are also dimensionally less accurate than the seamless tubes. These can be used as Stainless Steel Mechanical Tubing in applications where high mechanical properties are required. The 316 is a reasonably corrosion resistant austenitic stainless steel that can be used in most applications. There are other categories such as ferritic, martensitic and duplex stainless steels.
