Descriptions

Hard industrial chrome is a porous coating which contains microscopic fissures due to the way in which chrome is applied to the base metal. While chrome of 0.005" -0.010" thick will provide optimum protection against wear, over time, a corrosive environment will break down the chrome before its typical wear life has been realized. It does this by attacking the base metal under the chrome and the subsequent rust causes a break in the adhesion of the chrome.

Hard Chrome can be applied to all types of stainless steel alloys, most ferrous metals, and some nonferrous metals including copper and brass.

The hard chromium is very “Hard” on surface. It is 68-70 Rc (Rockwell Scale) which makes it suitable for a variety of industrial applications that require resistance to wear. It is also the finest metal deposition to utilize when specifications call for smooth and flawless characteristics on the roll face.

Chrome is a good thermal and electrical conductor and is resistant to a variety of chemicals. Chrome is hard, dense, and abrasion resistant and is one of the few materials that can be ground and polished to a mirror finish. It can also be provided with a range of matte finish surface textures by grit blasting. 

With imported polishing machine and raw materials, the roller surface roughness can reach Rao.01 and also concentricity is less than 0.02mm.
