The PSA nitrogen generator uses a carbon molecular sieve as sorbent and produces nitrogen by utilizing the PSA principle. Under certain pressure, the carbon molecular sieve has different oxygen/nitrogen adsorption capacities, with significantly greater oxygen adsorption capacity than nitrogen.
PLC controls the pneumatic valve on/off to realize two towers alternating between adsorption and desorption according to pressure changes, achieving oxygen/nitrogen separation to produce nitrogen with desired purity.
The system incorporates an air compressor, refrigerant air dryer and filters, main nitrogen generator, air buffer tank, and nitrogen buffer tank. For higher nitrogen pressure requirements, a BROTIE totally oil-free nitrogen compressor can be added to increase pressure to required levels.
Pre-filtered compressed air passes through one CMS-filled vessel. The CMS adsorbs oxygen while nitrogen emerges as the product gas.
When the CMS becomes saturated with oxygen, the process switches to the second vessel while the first begins desorption and regeneration.
Part of the nitrogen produced by the active vessel purges through the regenerating vessel to quickly restore the CMS for the next cycle.
