PSA Technology Overview
The Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Nitrogen generation technology has been successfully implemented since the 1970s, with thousands of plants operating worldwide. Our systems have been supplied to customers in over 56 countries.
How PSA Technology Works
Air consists of 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. The PSA process separates these components by adsorbing oxygen through Carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS), leaving high-purity nitrogen as the product gas.
Three-Step Process
- Adsorption: Compressed air passes through a CMS-filled vessel where oxygen is adsorbed, producing nitrogen.
- Desorption: When CMS becomes saturated, the process switches to a second vessel while the first regenerates by releasing waste gases.
- Regeneration: Purged nitrogen from the active vessel accelerates CMS regeneration for the next cycle.
