The MTP connector is a multi-fiber push-on connector type designed for high-density environments. This system is primarily used in data centers, fiber-to-the-building applications, and internal connections within optical transceiver equipment such as 40G, 100G, and QSFP+ devices.

MTP connector types are distinguished according to IEC 61754-7 regulations by core numbers (array number), gender (Male/Female), and polarity (PC or APC).
