This test apparatus is used for the measurement of flame spread, heat release and smoke production on electric or optical fibre cables under fire conditions. Install the wire or cables in the vertical ladder, and ignite wiht standard fire source, and the combustion data ast first stage can be measured. The heat release rate reflects the danger of cable combustion spread and the potential influence of the fire source to areas nearby. The smoke density test shows the danger that the density of the fire birngs to human security. Some important data under defined combustion conditions can be got by this test, such as flame spread(FS), heat release rate(HRR), total heat release(THR), smoke production rate(SPR), total smoke production(TSP), fire growth rate(FIGRA), and features of combustion remains.
