The instrument is designed and made as per the National Standard of People’s Republic of China GB/T4509 “Test Methods for Needle Penetration of Petroleum Asphalt”, and T0604 “Asphalt Needle Penetration Test” in the Industry Standard of People’s Republic of China JTJ052 Specification and Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixture for Highway Engineering.
It is suitable to make needle penetration determination for highway asphalt, modified asphalt, as well as residue of liquid petroleum asphalt or emulsified asphalt after evaporation. It can also be used to inspect solid granule, powder, colloid, freezing substance, as well as food materials like cheese, glycine, butter, ice cream, cream, and fermentation substance, etc. It has been widely used in the field of food industry, highway construction, and other industry departments.

I. Main technical specification and parameters
1. Measurement range: 0~600 penetrations;
2. Resolution: 0.01 mm;
3. Time control: it can select 5 s or 60 s; timing error is less than ±0.1 s;
