Product Description

FANUC A06B-0113-B075 | Beta B0.5/3000 AC Servo Motor — 0.2 kW / 0.65 Nm / 3000 rpm / A32B Encoder / IP67

A Light, Fast Servo for Compact CNC Axes

The A06B-0113-B075 is FANUC's B0.5/3000 — the lightest motor in the Beta red-cap series, at 0.2 kW and 1 kg. At 3,000 rpm maximum speed, it was the standard fit for small to medium CNC machine tool axes where a compact, lightweight servo is more important than high stall torque. Tool carousel indexers, tailstock drives, chip conveyor servo positions, and auxiliary axes on multi-function machines all fall within its capability profile.

The A32B encoder provides 32,768 positions per revolution — high resolution for a motor of this size. In FANUC's servo architecture, the amplifier processes this count for accurate velocity and position control. The A32B is an incremental encoder: a reference-return cycle is required at each machine power-up before the axis is usable at a known position.

The straight shaft with machined keyway provides positive torque transmission. At 0.65 Nm continuous torque the key is transmitting a light load, but the mechanical positive engagement it provides is more reliable than a friction-clamp interface under the reversal and vibration loading that accumulates over production service life.

IP67 sealing and the shaft oil seal protect the motor in the coolant spray and oil mist environment of a machine tool cabinet. Class F insulation provides a standard thermal safety margin.

B0.5/3000 Variant Context

The A06B-0113 series covers B0.5/3000 motors in different shaft, brake, and encoder configurations. The -B075 base identifies the encoder specification; the suffix after # identifies shaft and brake options. Common configurations:

SuffixShaftBrake
B075#0008Straight + keywayNone
B075#0005Straight + keywayNone
B075#7008 / #7000Taper / StraightNone

Confirm the complete part number including the # suffix from the installed motor's nameplate — shaft configuration affects coupling compatibility.

FAQ

Q1: The axis requires a homing cycle at every power-up. Is this because of the A32B encoder?

Yes. The A32B is an incremental encoder — it establishes position by counting from a reference point at each power-up. A homing cycle is required before the axis is usable at a defined position. This is the expected behaviour for machines using Beta incremental encoder motors. If absolute position without homing is required, a motor variant with an absolute encoder is needed.

Q2: What amplifiers are compatible with the A06B-0113-B075?

The B0.5/3000 series pairs with FANUC Beta SVU and SVM servo amplifiers from the Beta motor-compatible family. The specific amplifier model depends on the drive system's axis count and configuration. Confirm the amplifier's rated current is appropriate for the motor's 2.8A rated current.

Q3: Can this motor be fitted with a straight-shaft coupling hub on the keyway shaft?

Yes. The straight shaft can accept either a keyed coupling hub (using the keyway) or a friction-clamp hub (with the key omitted or left in place). At 0.65 Nm continuous torque, friction clamping is mechanically adequate for most applications. The keyway provides additional positive retention against reversal loads and vibration over extended service.

Q4: The A06B-0113-B075 is discontinued. Is it still available?

Yes, through the FANUC Beta series motor aftermarket — new surplus, tested refurbished units, and motor rebuild services (encoder, bearings, seals, shaft). The B0.5/3000 class has a large installed base and remains actively traded. Confirm the complete part number including the # suffix before ordering, and verify encoder operation and IP67 seal condition on any used unit.

Q5: After installing the replacement motor, the axis shows an erratic following error. What should be checked?

Confirm the servo amplifier's motor type parameter matches the B0.5/3000 specification. Verify the encoder cable is fully seated at the amplifier's feedback connector and that the cable shield is grounded at the amplifier end. Check the coupling for any misalignment or looseness after motor installation — mechanical coupling issues add friction that appears as following error.
