When the horizontal shell-tube evaporator works, a considerable amount of liquid refrigerant should be installed in the shell. Usually, the height of the static liquid level is 70% ~ 80% of the diameter of the shell, so it is also called the full-liquid evaporator. At this time, there will be 1 ~ 3 rows of pipes exposed to the liquid level.During boiling, these tubes are moistened by the liquid brought up and thus act as heat transfer agents.If the liquid level is kept low, the evaporator tube cannot give full play to its heat transfer function.On the contrary, if the liquid level remains too high, there is a danger of bringing the liquid into the compressor.
