Blended Yak/Cashmere Yarn
Yak wool is a durable and lightweight fiber that preserves the skin’s heat in the winter yet breathes for comfort in warmer weather. The most common natural color of the Yak fiber is a dark brown, but they also have the other color such as white, tan, and grey.
Cashmere is the fine undercoat fibers produced by goat. Such product is covered at the bottom by the thicker wool. It is a type of rare and special animal fiber which grows during the winter months to resist the severe cold, and falls off when the weather turns warm again. The rareness of cashmere (it only makes up 0.2% of the world’s total animal fiber output) is one of the reasons why it is so expensive and preciousness; but more importantly, the excellent quality of it is incomparable by any other types of textile raw material. Therefore, people sometime refers it as “the Queen of fiber” or “fabric gem”. Moreover, a nickname of “soft gold” has given to it because gram is sometime the measurement unit of the world cashmere trading. China produces over 70% of the total world’s cashmere output, and of better quality comparing to other countries.
