Polarity Types
- Type A: Fiber 1 connected to fiber 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3 (straight-through)
- Type B: Fiber 1 connected to fiber 12, 2 to 11, 3 to 10 (cross-over)
- Type C: Fiber 1 connected to fiber 2, 2 to 1, 3 to 4, 4 to 3 (paired cross-over)
Application Guidelines
Polarity Selection by Data Rate
- Type C cables: 1G, 10G, or 25G duplex networks connecting between MPO/LC cassettes
- Type B cables: 40G and 100G networks
