18 Core Self-Supporting ADSS Fiber Optic Cable
All Dielectric Self-supporting Aerial Cable (ADSS) is a loose tube stranded cable designed for aerial installation with 100-span capacity and single jacket construction.
Cable Construction
Fibers are positioned into loose tubes made of high modulus plastics. The tubes are filled with water-resistant compound around FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) as a non-metallic central strength member, forming a compact and circular cable core.
After the cable core is filled with filling compound, it is covered with a thin polyethylene (PE) inner sheath. Two layers of Aramid yarns are applied in two directions over the inner sheath as strength member, and the cable is completed with PE or AT outer sheath.
