MPO MTP Trunk Cable - MPO to MPO 12 Core OM5 Fiber Lime Green Optic Patch Cord
OM5 fiber has been approved as a new multimode optical fiber for high-speed data center applications. It is designed to support at least four low-cost wavelengths in the 850-950 nm range, enabling optimal support of emerging Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM) applications that reduce parallel fiber count by at least a factor of four.
MPO MTP Cable Overview
SWDM technology allows continued use of just two fibers (rather than eight) for transmitting 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s and reduced fiber counts for higher speeds. SWDM has many applications in Data Centers and other applications. OM5 cabling is fully compatible and intermateable with OM3 and OM4 cabling.
MTP/MPO connectors are used to interconnect cassettes, panels, or fan outs, available in standard 8, 12, 24, or 48 cores versions using a compact and rugged microcables structure. The compact cable design optimizes cableway use and improves airflow. These MPO/MTP cables are built with the highest quality components, with Low Loss Elite versions featuring low insertion loss for demanding high-speed networks where power budgets are critical.
