Product Description
48 Port Fiber Optic Patch Panel with MPO/MTP Cable and Adapters
This 48-port fiber optic patch panel system includes MPO/MTP cables and adapters, also known as fiber distribution panels. These panels facilitate easy termination of fiber optic cables and provide access to individual fibers for cross-connection purposes.
The standard fiber optic panel features a metal enclosure that houses adapter panels and fiber splice trays. Splice trays enable fiber fusion with optic pigtails, which then connect to the fixed inside ports of the adapter panels.
The panel's interior ports remain fixed, ensuring permanent cable connections, while the exterior ports accommodate fiber patch cables for frequent connection adjustments between devices as needed.
The fiber patch panel consists of two compartments: one containing bulkhead receptacles or adapters, and the other designated for splice tray and excess fiber storage.
Available in slide-out rack mount fiber optic enclosures with various configurations including LC multimode duplex adaptors and splice trays. Multiple models accommodate 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, 96, and 144 core fiber applications. Compatible with various adapter interfaces including SC, ST, FC, LC, MTRJ, and E2000. Related fiber accessories and pigtails available as optional components.

Polarity Configuration
Understanding Fiber Polarity
For proper data transmission, the transmit signal (Tx) at one cable end must correspond with the receiver (Rx) at the opposite end. Industry standards define three polarity methods for multi-fiber components, each utilizing different MPO cable types.
Method A
Utilizes Type A straight-through MPO trunk cables with key up connector on one end and key down connector on the opposite end, maintaining Position 1 to Position 1 fiber alignment. For duplex applications, requires patch cord transceiver-receiver flip at one end.
Method B
Employs key up connectors on both ends to achieve transceiver-receiver flip, with Position 1 fiber arriving at Position 12 opposite end. For duplex applications, uses straight A-B patch cords on both ends.
Method C
Features key up connector on one end and key down on the other (similar to Method A), with internal fiber pair flipping. While suitable for duplex applications, this method does not support parallel 8-fiber 40 and 100 Gig applications and is not recommended.
With multiple polarity methods requiring specific patch cord types, deployment errors are common. Fluke Networks' MultiFiber™ Pro enables testing of individual patch cords, permanent links, and channels for correct polarity verification.
