The MTP cable construction features a micro core design that is exceptionally lightweight with a small bend radius, making these cables ideal for data center applications requiring high-density fiber installations. Fiber networks utilizing MTP cables and cassettes offer simplified installation processes. Each MTP cable can connect to MTP cassettes, providing from 12 fibers (6 LC ports) up to 144 fibers (72 LC ports). This modular approach enables rapid, organized installations and allows customers to scale their fiber network infrastructure according to specific expansion requirements.

Applications
Duplex 1G to 10G Ethernet Networks
MPO patch cables with 12-fiber connectors and cables are primarily used in distribution areas requiring high-density patching fields. Compared to standard duplex LC-LC patch cables, MPO cables increase patching density by a factor of six. Typically, these cables feature polarity C with male MPO connectors that connect to polarity C trunk/backbone MPO cables with female connectors.
Duplex 25G Ethernet Networks
This emerging application utilizes 8-fiber MPO connectors and cables for BASE-8 configurations. While currently in early adoption phase, this application is projected for rapid growth as 25G data rate equipment becomes more prevalent.
40G and 100G SR4 or PSM4 Ethernet Parallel Transmission Networks
These applications typically use MPO 12-fiber connectors and cables, though only 8 fibers are utilized for SR4 40G or 100G Ethernet transmission. The advantage of 12-fiber cables lies in their compatibility with duplex 10G networking, offering greater flexibility and multiple purposes with minimal cost difference.
The three polarity methods Type A, Type B and Type C are used to guarantee proper bi-directional allocation.
