MPO (Multi-fiber Push On) connectors feature multiple fibers in a single ferrule with a mechanical snap-in mechanism. The MTP Connector is a premium brand of MPO connector offering superior performance in multi-fiber applications.
MPO MTP Cable Overview
40G parallel networks are established using MPO trunk cables and MPO patch cables connected via MPO adapter modules. Direct connections between 40G or 100G ports can also be achieved with MPO patch cables. These solutions utilize 12-fiber MPO connectors and cables, with 8 fibers actively used for SR4 40G or 100G Ethernet transmission, providing flexibility for integration with duplex 10G networking.
