Planar waveguide light optical distributor (PLC Splitter) is a planar waveguide integrated optical device that preserves and distributes optical power across a wide wavelength range of 1260nm to 1650nm. This wavelength range covers the 1310nm, 1490nm, and 1550nm wavelengths used in EPON technology, making it particularly suitable for EPON Ethernet passive optical network access technology and FTTP fiber network systems in broadband passive optical distributors (POS).
PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) splitters use optical chips to split input signals into multiple outputs. These micro-optical devices feature silica glass lightwave circuits with ribbon-form mounting on carriers and fibers. The basic structure consists of substrate, waveguide, and lid layers, available with different polished finishes for various applications.
