What is an Optical Fiber Circulator?
An optical fiber circulator functions similarly to a microwave circulator, serving as a three or more port multiport device. Lightwave transmits from one port to the next sequential port with minimal loss while being blocked from traveling to the previous port.
Originally developed for telecom systems, optical circulators are now widely used in sensing and imaging applications due to their low-cost, high-performance characteristics.
