This 2.0mm Cable FC Fiber Optic DWDM Add-Drop Multiplexer operates on single-mode fiber at 1470nm wavelength, providing advanced wavelength division multiplexing capabilities for high-performance optical networks.
Wavelength Division Multiplexing Technology
Wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) technology multiplexes multiple optical carrier signals onto a single optical fiber using different wavelengths of laser light. Communication system designs vary, and the spacing between wavelengths differs accordingly.
WDM systems are categorized as CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) with 20nm channel spacing, or DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) with 0.2nm to 1.2nm channel spacing. At the transmitting end, multiple optical carrier signals are combined through a multiplexer and transmitted via the same optical fiber. At the receiving end, a demultiplexer separates the wavelengths for further processing and signal restoration.
