LC APC SX Pre Assembly Components 2.0mm Fiber Optic Connectors
The FibreFab LC connector is a small form factor fiber optic connector that reduces space requirements on panels or outlets by 50%. This cost-effective solution simplifies movement, addition, and modification of connections. It features the standard RJ-style telephone connector design with an audible click upon engagement.
APC Connector Technology
APC (Angled Physical Contact) connectors minimize backreflection through a 5° to 15° angle-polish applied to end faces. This specialized polishing technique ensures optimal performance in sensitive optical applications.
Important: Angle-polished connectors must only be mated with other angle-polished connectors. Mating with non-angle polished connectors results in very high insertion loss. APC connectors are visually identified by green strain relief boots or green connector bodies and are designated with "/APC" suffix (e.g., LC/APC).
APC connectors typically achieve return loss greater than -65 dB when mated, compared to -55 dB for UPC connections. For unmated connectors, APC maintains -65 dB or greater return loss, while UPC connectors typically measure around 14 dB.
