Multi Mode LC APC 3.0mm Fiber Optic LC Connector with Low Insertion Loss for High Performance Networks
LC APC SX Pre-assembly Connector parts for 2.0mm and 3.0mm fiber optic LC connectors provide reliable mechanical alignment for fiber-optic connections. These adapters feature flange-type plastic housing with ceramic sleeves for single mode applications and bronze sleeves for multimode applications.
APC (Angled Physical Contact) connectors minimize backreflection through a 5° to 15° angle-polish applied to end faces, as illustrated below:
Important: Angle-polished connectors must only be mated with other angle-polished connectors. Mating with non-angle polished connectors results in very high insertion loss.
APC connectors maintain low back reflection even when disconnected, with typical return loss values exceeding -65 dB for mated connections and unmated ports. This compares favorably to UPC connectors which typically achieve -55 dB when mated and approximately 14 dB when unmated.
APC connectors are visually identified by green strain relief boots or green connector bodies and are designated by adding "/APC" to the connector name (e.g., LC/APC, FC/APC).
