4. Tips of electrical safety test
4.1 Attentions during dynamic leakage current measurement:
- The voltage regulation index of isolation transformer should be minimized to avoid the measurement error cause by the change of power supply of tested product. It will be better to access an adjustable AC power source at the primary winding of isolation transformer, which can make sure applying a correct input voltage to the tested object.
- The tested product should be placed on the insulation workbench without grounding if the isolation power source is not available.
- To ensure the accuracy of measurement, the leakage current meter should contain a wide frequency detect range and true RMS conversion circuit, because the leakage current passed through insulated material contains sinusoidal, non-sinusoidal and higher harmonic components.
4.2 Attentions for the ground conduction resistance measurement:
- Four-wire measurement method should be used in ground conduction testing, to eliminate contact thermo-electric potential and measurement error. The tester should have the function of automatically clearing wire resistance and contact resistance, which can ensure the accuracy of measurement.
