Operating Principle
The instrument operates by rotating the test worm gear to apply torque to the torsion wire. This torque balances the liquid surface tension through contact with the platinum ring. As torque increases and the liquid surface is pulled, the torsion wire twist angle is measured. The reference cursor reading on the dial, multiplied by the correction factor, provides the precise surface or interfacial tension value.
