FAQ: What should I do if the high pressure pump fails? Oil metering unit over temperature
ERIKC Answer: Fault phenomenon:
1) The fault light is on; 2) The rail pressure relief valve opens and the vehicle enters the limp home mode.
Possible Causes:
1) Electric interference causes excessive burn-out of the fuel metering unit; 2) The internal fault of the fuel metering unit causes the chip to overheat.
Troubleshooting method:
1) Check the wiring harness or ECU corresponding control module; 2) Replace the flow measurement unit.
High-pressure pump failure, how to deal with? Short-circuit of fuel metering unit to ground and power supply
ERIKC Answer: Fault phenomenon:
1) The fault light is on; 2) The rail pressure relief valve opens and the vehicle enters the limp home mode.
Possible Causes:
1) The harness at the low end of the ECU to the fuel metering unit is shorted to a low or high level; 2) The fuel metering unit itself fails; 3) The ECU fails.
Troubleshooting method:
1) Disconnect ECU pin 3.10 and measure the ECU's voltage to ground. The normal is about 3.5V. If it is not within the range, replace the ECU to perform the crossover test; 2) Connect the 3.10 foot, disconnect the corresponding end fitting of the fuel metering unit, and measure the voltage of this end to ground. The normal is about 3.5V. If it is not in the range, the 3.10 corresponding harness is short-circuited to high level (more than 3.5V) or low level (less than 3.5V); 3) The resistance of the measuring fuel measuring unit should be 3Ω.
